Monday Morning Rant
I don't think I have ever been as busy as I have been these last few weeks. It's been awesome! Non-stop traveling and speaking. My dream come true. God has been so faithful at every event. He has continuously visited us. From Brenham, Texas the second weekend of June to yesterday in Houston, God has been faithful and true.
There is something incredible about speaking at a camp. I have a special memory from both of the camps I have spoken at so far. At Camp Barnabas in Buda, I can't forget that Thursday night during the worship when everyone laid aside everything and worshipped. There are no words to describe that sound. At Youth Week at Alto Frio, it was also Thursday night when God spoke through me and declared "It ends tonight"! I was shaking as those words echoed through the tabernacle. I knew there were students there whose lives where at a spiritual crossroad and how they responded that night would effect everything from that day forward. I remember crying as one student came forward that many of us had been praying for all week. A few moments later with the mic in his hand he told everyone that if they weren't saved that they need to get up here now. Powerful!
Since it has been so hot lately I decided to dress casually for the service yesterday in North Houston. The pastor and I never discussed the dress code so I didn't think much about it. After teaching the Bible study that morning the Spanish service pastor pulled me aside and asked me if I had a coat and tie. He informed me that the senior pastor of the church where they met would not allow anyone to preach in their building that was not wearing a coat and tie. He would even send spies to the Spanish service to make sure whoever was preaching was wearing a coat and tie. Next thing you know the pastor takes off his tie and coat and hands them to me. I preached wearing his tie with a shirt that wasn't designed for ties and wearing his coat which let's just say was a few sizes larger than my size. God spoke through the message, but I was a bit uncomfortable.
Things are not slowing down. Flying to El Paso today for Opportunity Camp in the mountains of New Mexico. Good bye 100 degree weather. Hello 75 degree days! Opp Camp is a very unique camp with some awesome campers. Many come from some serious situations and frankly some messed up homes, but God will do a work in their lives at camp. Lord willing the day after I return from Opp Camp the fam and I will drive to Wichita Falls for a Sunday followed by Leonard and Dallas, Texas. God is good!
